▍Mission & Vision

To support the Government's promotion of Mandarin education, respond to the growing needs for international cultural exchange, and enhance global understanding of Taiwan, University of Taipei offers a variety of domestic and overseas programs in Mandarin education, teacher training, and international education. In accordance with Article 4, Paragraph 1, Item 5 of the University’s Organizational Regulations, the “Mandarin Language and Global Education Division, Office of International Affairs, University of Taipei” (hereinafter referred to as "the Division") has been established as a second-level administrative unit. The Division is responsible for the following:

  1. Organizing various short-term Mandarin programs for both domestic and international learners to improve their Mandarin proficiency.

  2. Conducting Mandarin teacher training and certification programs for participants from Taiwan and abroad.

  3. Hosting academic seminars, exchange visits, and collaborative activities with Mandarin-related institutions worldwide.

  4. Compiling and developing Mandarin teaching materials and training overseas Mandarin instructors.

  5. Organizing cultural and artistic exchange experiences to enhance citizen diplomacy.

  6. Undertaking Mandarin-related short-term training and continuing education programs commissioned by government agencies, schools, and public or private institutions.

  7. Managing other activities related to Mandarin teaching and cultural exchange.

  8. Handling international exchange and student mobility affairs.

The Division currently consists of one Director, one full-time Mandarin instructor, one full-time administrative assistant, and one staff member, to meet the demands of Mandarin teaching and international education. In light of the expansion of both the regular Mandarin program and short-term study groups, and to ensure flexibility in recruitment and teaching operations, the Division also employs one reserve Mandarin instructor and one part-time assistant to support instructional, event, and administrative tasks, forming a service team that is both flexible and capable.

The Division has established the "Mandarin Curriculum and Instructional Development Task Force" responsible for designing Mandarin-related courses, teaching methods, and materials. In addition, the "Mandarin Education Committee" oversees the formulation and supervision of the Division's annual operational plans.
