Activity Introduction:

To actively respond to the Ministry of Education’s New Southbound Policy, University of Taipei welcomed faculty and students from Shoolini University, India, on Monday, July 7, for a two-week Chinese language and cultural exchange program. Organized and hosted by UT Taipei, the program aimed to foster mutual understanding and strengthen academic ties between the two institutions through immersive language learning and cultural interaction.

The program featured a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that included intensive Mandarin classes designed to enhance participants’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. In addition, a series of hands-on cultural workshops, such as pineapple cake DIY, calligraphy, and lantern making, allowed students to experience Chinese language through creative and interactive formats. Participants also visited iconic Taiwanese landmarks, including the National Palace Museum and Taipei 101, gaining a multifaceted perspective on Taiwan’s rich heritage and contemporary development.

Through this exchange, the visiting faculty and students expressed high praise for Taiwan’s cultural charm and UT Taipei’s language instruction. Not only did the program significantly improve their Mandarin proficiency, but it also sparked deeper interest in Taiwanese society and traditions. The successful completion of this camp laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between the two universities and demonstrated UT Taipei’s continued dedication to promoting international Chinese language education. It also marked an important step forward in expanding outreach and recruitment efforts within South Asia.
